bushel [soybean]6060 * 0.453592 = 27.2

My target nitrogen application rate is 100 N lbs / acre in sorghum, and my plot size is 250 ft2

1 acre = 43,560 ft2
→ 100 lbs / 43,560 ft2

100 lbs : 43,560 ft2 = x lbs : 250 ft2
∴ x = (250 * 100) / 43560
→ 0.574 lbs

1 lbs : 0.453592 kg = 0.574 lbs : x kg
∴ x = 0.260 kg

Based on the target rate of 100 N lbs/acre, the amount of nitrogen for my plot size is 0.260 g. I’ll apply nitrogen as urea, which contains 46% nitrogen. Here is the equation to calculate the amount of urea.

Therefore, I need to apply ca. 565 g of urea to meet my nitrogen requirement of 260 g for your plot size.
